Forty-five years ago when we purchased our 7.9 acres out in the country the acreage consisted of a cultivated field. We had the challenge of turning it into a hobby farm. So the first thing on the agenda was to plant a windbreak that would protect our house. A house that was yet a dream but hopefully would become a reality in a few years. The message on my iPad read, “Hi!! I have a question for you and you can absolutely say no!! What are the odds the great Mr. Mike would be willing to come out of retirement next Friday?” Do you notice the clever way of using the words “the great” just at the right time in that message? It’s been a busy past few weeks nurturing the family tree. Sometimes in our complex world that’s an activity that can get neglected. Thanks to our son Steve and his wife Sara we have been for able to do some nurturing at their lake home on Paul Lake near Perham, MN.
